By the end of the first week, Harold was well familiar with the medical unit. He pretty much knew where everything was, now, and would be able to get it at a moment’s notice. He was also able to help a little bit more with the major injuries. While helping one of the surgeons stabilize a guy with a severely broken leg, Harold’s interest in becoming a doctor had been revitalized. The way many of the doctors would perform complex procedures really impressed him. He was especially impressed by the trauma surgeons who could seem to fix any wound with their eyes closed, even with limited supplies. One thing Harold was still not used to, was the many soldiers who would come in, and not make it. No matter what interventions were done, they did not make it out alive. He just never saw so many mass casualties in such a short time frame.
